UN and Trace Network communities
Piggybacking off of Adam's request for information, I would love to know who is using the Utility Network or Trace Network solutions. I have inherited responsibility for a stormwater UN and a water and sanitary trace network, and it's been a bit of a trial by fire to troubleshoot issues. One question I have in particular is related to bulk editing. I have a Python script that joins stormwater lines to a table in another database that stores the URLs for CCTV recordings. The script itself is simple: make a view of the CCTV table that lists the videos collected in the last 21 days, join it to the stormwater lines that match (keeping only the matches), and then calculating the values from the CCTV table into a few fields in the stormwater line. Since stormwater uses branch versioning, it's doing the calculations on a web service. When I first started running the script, it would take 2.5 hours to complete (which already seemed excessive). Now it's taking 5+ hours to complete. Am I missing something when it comes to bulk edits on a branch versioned service that participates in a utility network?

Have you filtered the stormwater data before joining in to the view? Get the most updated version at first will reduce the number of lines that will perform the join action in view.

And normally it is not a good idea to sync values from table with multiple records back to the single transaction in main table.

@J. Ho, I've filtered the stormwater data as best as I can before the join. Tell me more about your comment that it's "not a good idea to sync values from table with multiple records back to the single transaction in main table." Is there a better way for me to get the data from the CCTV database into the stormwater lines?
