BYU Idaho

Two departments teach GIS at BYU-Idaho. A geospatial computing degree is offered by the Department of Geology. This degree is for students looking to use computer science and GIS to solve spatial and quantitative problems around Earth’s complex systems and its distribution of resources, environments, and hazards. Geology also offers a 15-credit GIS certificate. The Department of Geography offers a GIS cluster where students learn to analyze and make decisions for real-world problems utilizing GIS.

California State University Long Beach

CSULB Geography is a teaching-intensive, research-driven department with a strong tradition of service to the community at both local and international scales. We have established a national reputation as a productive and innovative geography program.

Geography @ CSULB is ranked #5 in California, #9 in the West and #29 in the USA. Geography alumni are among the highest wage earners in the College of Liberal Arts!

Our undergraduate and graduate programs are the largest in the entire California State University (CSU) system where 17 of the 23 campuses offer Geography or GIS degrees.

Collin College

The Collin College GIS program is available 100% online, allowing you to accomplish a degree in the windows of time that you have available. All GIS courses taught at Collin College use Esri's industry-leading software: ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online. While students are enrolled in Collin's GIS courses, they receive a complimentary license of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.

Miami University

The Department of Geography integrates social and natural sciences to understand and address complex human and environmental challenges, working to solve tomorrow's problems today.

We offer undergraduate majors in 1) Geography and Sustainable Development, and 2) Urban and Regional Planning. Additionally, we offer a Masters of Geography, which can be pursued as a joint BA + MA degree in 4-5 years.

Polis Center

The Polis Center–a unit in the IU Indianapolis Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering—works with community partners in Indiana and beyond to develop innovative place-based policies and practices for healthier and more resilient communities. It supports community development and quality-of-life efforts, natural disaster resiliency, and population health management using geospatial technologies to integrate, manage, and visualize the rapidly growing information on the places where we live and work. We do this through place-based research, analysis, collaborations, and advanced information technologies. We help communities and organizations build capacity, provide actionable information, and develop knowledge platforms.

Penn State

Penn State began offering its online Certificate Program in GIS in 1999. Since then, the Penn State Online Geospatial Education Programs have expanded to four graduate certificates (GIS, Geospatial Programming and Web Development, Remote Sensing and Earth Observation, and Geospatial Intelligence) as well as three masters degrees (the Master of GIS, Master of Science in Spatial Data Science, and the Master of Professional Studies in Homeland Security). The programs consist of over 30 instructor-led online courses, offered in fast-paced 10-week terms. Five semesters per year enable students to make rapid progress in their studies. Our students are current and aspiring geospatial professionals who typically study with us part-time while working full-time - often in roles involving geospatial technologies, data, and methods. University of Oklahoma

With the mission to foster the insights, technical skills, and advanced training in geospatial technologies, the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences and the Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability at the University of Oklahoma offer the online Master of Science in Geospatial Technology program. Representing the intersection of geography and technology, the program's curriculum was specifically designed to provide students with the theoretical and practical geospatial technology skills needed to advance in this rapidly growing field of study.
