Storytelling for GIS failure in software or impetus for change in thinking. 1 R. Marquez We need to simplify. We have so many options that we feel like we need to use the all. Knaflic asks in Chapter 1 - Who is you audience? What do you need them to know or do?Just like in cartography, you can make a map with everything or you can focus on what’s important. The audience will always appreciate the latter.

"When I'm asked to show the data, I feel....___________" 2 R. Marquez Our book this month suggest the too much data is bad. We already know that when we build apps, dashboards, maps, etc. It's our job to know the audience and show them what we want them to see. If certain managers want to "see the data" then send them a screen shot of the database or export to a spreadsheet like Matt stated. Does the viz satisfy the customer? If the answer is yes then the request is complete.
